So the Local Weekly Paper has Me Contribute Occasional Short Columns
We live in a small valley in Southern Colorado. It’s a neat community nestled in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. It has a slower pace and is populated by nice people, zero traffic lights, and plenty of dirt roads.
For a small town its size, it’s probably bucking the odds to still have a weekly newspaper published. The Greenhorn Valley View. A fine publication printed every Thursday that covers the comings and goings of the four small communities that make up the valley.
Among the View’s sections is about a half-page dedicated to Religion, where each of the nine or so leaders of local churches are given the opportunity to contribute short articles that the paper calls “Devotions” or “Meditations.”
As a representative of the local ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I’m asked to submit a devotion about once a quarter. Its a nice opportunity to contribute uplifting messages and share feelings about our Savior Jesus Christ.
So my plan is to post links to each of those stories here, as a way to aggregate them in one location. If for no other reason than to make it easier for my mom to find them.
So, here they are. I hope you enjoy them as much as mom.
